Dear Moving...
I hate you.
For the past week, we have been moving from our apartment on the south side of Dothan to our new rental house (and hopefully the house we’ll buy) on the north side of Dothan. The properties are 5.3miles apart and I hate this move worse than the move from Tennessee to Blountstown when Jadie and I got married.
Good news: We are done this weekend. No more car loads of stuff.
Bad...

Dear Creatives...
I am in awe of your talent. I find your “take it all in” mindset fascinating. In all honesty, I wish I could think more like you. But I’m a little more type A than you. I tend to think via projects rather than experientially. However, God has given me the grace to be creative through a few avenues, and so I have this battle within me. What are some ways I can “turn...

Monday Recap
I’ve got 5 posts in my “drafts” folder that are ready to be posted…This week, I’m going to try to get one of them out.
But to catch you up I figured I’d write a short little post to let you know what’s been going on in the Singleton household.
1. We had a baby (You knew that)
2. I transitioned jobs.
* I am now the SPD (Service Programming Director)...

Late Theology Tuesday: LAW
So, last week, I didn’t release a Theology Tuesday because I was processing this thought.
Why?
1. This is a thought that could revolutionize your personal faith.
2. This is a statement that could turn into a heated debate.
3. Jesus brother, James, says that teachers are held to a higher standard and will be judged accordingly. So, I didn’t want to screw up.
However, after much...
Monday Recap
It’s monday…I’m tired…As for yesterday…
Band did great.
Paul’s talk knocked it out of the park.
Background vocalist made me sound good.
I took my wife for some Cracker Barrel Sunday chicken for Mother’s Day.
Went home and ate the rest of our chicken for dinner…(I could eat that EVERYDAY).
Carolina stayed asleep too long and kept Jadie up til...

If the goal of the local church is life change…this is a WIN!!! Great Job Buckhead Church and NPMI!
We are by nature observers, and thereby learners. That is our permanent state.

Oh My Sweet Carolina
Let me introduce you to my daughter…
I thought I should probably properly introducer her…
Her name is Carolina Belle Singleton. She was born on 4/11/11 in Tallahassee, FL, and I think she’s going to grow up to look just like her mom. She looks like me right now, but I’d make a pretty weird looking woman (with my beard and all), so I’m praying that she starts...

Theology Tuesday: SLAVE
A few months back, I was working on sermons for Student Ministry at RCC, and as I was writing and studying, I had an epiphany. My Epiphany: We are slaves. While it was for freedom we were set free (Galatians), we were also given a new MASTER. We are slaves. Our mindset as humanity is that of a slave. I broke it down for myself…
I used to be a Slave to Sin:
Romans 5 teaches that because...

Bin Laden Reaction
So…I set up this post this morning as I was processing my take on the Osama Bin Laden situation. This afternoon as I sat down to start writing my thoughts, a blog came up on my google reader, and (just like most things they write) this blog says it better than I ever could.

Yes, I'm a Dad, AND...
I want to live in a loft.
I’d buy one, if we could find one in our price range that we wanted. I think they are the coolest things ever, and if I was a kid, I would love growing up in one.
And when I say, “Loft,” I mean a loft…including, but not limited to:
Big open rooms
Business below
As much original stuff as we could salvage
Busy street outside
Maybe even a Vespa...

Our Information Driven World
Let me butcher a paraphrased idea:
I think it was John Maxwell who said: One of the biggest differences between leaders of today and great leaders of the past is the culture in which they were called to lead.
The main difference? Technology. Let me explain…In the days of our country’s founding fathers, leadership decisions didn’t have the time constraints that they have today....

Theology Tuesday
Theology Tuesday is a blog series I’m going to attempt to make a part of my week. I’m trying to blog constantly, and I thought that having a series might help. So to get us started, this week’s I want to talk about what I believe is the foundational issue with the current cultural crisis regarding faith.
Who am I?
Truthfully, this is the question that is at the heart of all...
Go Home at 5 Day
Recovery…
Let’s be honest, you can’t plan your life down to every little detail. It’s just not possible. But I tend to think I can, and when things don’t go perfectly, it wipes me out. Now the truth is, I knew this week was going to be crazy. That’s how Easter week works in the church world. So being the planner I am, I laid out my week and planned how many...
My Wife the Warrior
Okay, so, as my wife is recuperating from giving birth to our newborn baby girl, I thought I’d write what the last 48ish hours were like from my perspective.
Here goes:
From week 36 to her actual delivery day, Jadie had been feeling contractions and having kind of “bouts” of false labor. We would walk around Target, and she would contract consistently then we would leave and...

Thoughts On Becoming a Father →
In a few weeks, I’m going to dive into a new level of adult-hood…Here are some thoughts:
I don’t want to mess up, even though I know I will. I don’t want to come at parenting with the “we’ll figure it out as we go” attitude. I want to parent with the “Here’s what we’ll do, and if we need to adjust, we will” attitude.
My biggest...
